HELENE ROSENBLATT, flute -director Blackledge has performed chamber music with woodwind quintets since high school. As a freelance musician, Helene has performed with the Opera Company of Boston, the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, the Central Massachusetts Symphony, the New England Women’s Symphony, the Lexington Community Orchestra, and the "Y" Orchestra in New York, and has performed on oboe and flute with the Willimantic(CT) Orchestra. Additionally, she formed, managed, and played with the Ensemble di Vento (of New York) and the Charles River Chamber Players(Cambridge,MA). Helene currently performs with the Salmon Brook Trio Plus!,Charter Oak Flutes, Concerto Winds, subs occasionally with Connecticut Valley Chamber Orchestra, and The Farmington Valley Orchestra . Helene received her Masters of Music in Performance from Boston University and also has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Hofstra. Helene is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, the National Music Honor Society. Helene taught private lessons on Long Island and in the Boston area for many years. For several years she taught at and was Assistant Director of The South Shore Conservatory of Music in Hingham and was responsible for operations in the Duxbury, MA branch. Helene earns her living networking computers. She holds a Certificate in Electronics; MCSE;MCNE; ECNE; CNE; Microsoft Product Certification. In addition to her musical activities Helene enjoys crafting, gardening and working with Springer Spaniels. She is involved with several "foster care" rescue volunteer organizations for dogs including POA in Glastonbury, CT; and the Long Island Springer Spaniel Club Rescue organization. She is a supporter of the National Yiddish Book Center in Amherst Massachusetts and enjoys playing and performing Klezmer and Jewish traditional music.

JANET ROSEN, Oboe Janet received her B.S. in Mus. from West Chester State College, and M.Mus. form the Hartt School of Music (University of Hartford) where she was a Concerto Competition winner and student of Humbert Lucarelli.Janet performs with a number of Connecticut groups. She is principal oboist of the Meriden Symphony, founding member of Trio Con Brio. Janet has performed with the Riverfest Festival Orchestra, New Haven Symphony, Waterbury Symphony, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Rome Festival Orchestra, Greater Bridgeport Symphony, Hamden Wind Symphony, etc. She was recognized in 1996 by the Cheshire League of Women Voters for her significant contribution to the Arts. Ms. Rosen is on the music faculty of the Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School in Hamden and teaches oboe privately in Cheshire.

TERI HEREL, Clarinet is a student of Kalmen Opperman. She performs professionally with the Blackledge Woodwind Quintet, the Paul Surapine Clarinet Ensemble, the Hartford Pops Band, the Hamden Wind Symphony, and the Milford, Westfield, and Northampton concert bands. Previously, Teri has performed with the Connecticut Repertory Theater, the Windham Theater Guild, the Manchester Musical Players, and the Manchester Symphony Orchestra. Teri instructs clarinet privately and is a visiting artist for local high school and college music programs. She has served as an adjudicator for local music competitions and the Connecticut All State competition. Teri is presently completing a Master’s degree in clarinet performance at the University of Connecticut, where she has performed Alvin Etler’s Concerto for Clarinet and Bernstein’s Prelude, Fugue, and Riffs with the University of Connecticut Wind Ensemble. She also completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut, having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music. During her undergraduate studies, she was a two year recipient of the Wilma Elias Scholarship for Music. Teri currently lives in rural Ellington with her husband where she enjoys organic gardening and edible landscaping as a hobby.

JOEL WINTER, French Horn received his Bachelor of Music and his Master of Science from Juilliard School of Music. Joel is the former Principal Horn of the American Philharmonic and the Connecticut Grand Opera Orchestra. He has also performed with New York Philharmonic, and is a former member of the Denver Symphony and the Oklahoma City Symphony. Mr Winter has taught at Manhattan School of Music and SUNY at Purchase. Joel performs with the Waterbury Symphony as well as numerous chamber and orchestral groups in Connecticut and New York. His "day job" these days is as a programmer in the financial market area.

RICHARD KANDETZKI, Bassoon is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Sherman Walt (Principal Bassoon of the Boston Symphony Orchestra) and Richard Plaster (Contra Bassoon of the Boston Symphony Orchestra). Richard has performed with a number of groups, including a stint as the Principle Bassoon of the Orqestra Symphonica Estadual de Sao Paulo, Brazil during its inaugural season and was for ten years the principal bassoon of the Ridgefield Symphony. Additionally, Richard has performed with the American Philharmonic at Lincoln Center, the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, and the Manchester Symphony Orchestra, and with numerous chamber ensembles in New York and Connecticut. Richard also currently plays with the Connecticut Valley Chamber Orchestra, and the Music with Friends Chamber Group among others. Richard has his "day job" managing computer programming for an engineering company.
